Sunset in the Henry Mountains

A sun pillar pierces the sky as night falls on the Henry Mountains. With the sun sinking behind Thousand Lakes and Boulder Mountain in the distance, the high altitude sets the perfect stage for the dance of light.

@ Wendy, they are also behind BigPrize, which is bringing in WAY more advertising and revenue for them

@Sondra Thanks. That's good to know. I guess it all depends on what else the devs have to do b/c I noticed that some pics were added to the archives pretty quickly. It seems like the Startlike page is pretty neglected lately. Maybe there are other projects that are more lucrative for them. I wonder if they could have Google ads along the side here that relate to conversations in the comments, kind of like on Facebook? That might be a way for them to make a little more money with the site.

So I'm piping in kind of late today, but James!!! I LOVE this!!! There is something about clouds during a sunset... they are just magnificent! And you have totally captured that!

@Wendy I think they add the pics to the archives manually. I uploaded several one evening and only one showed up for a few weeks. Just recently the others were added.

@Wendy - I'll second that if it does any good - you used to be able to go to a flikr account of the photographer when they used Creative Commons - with the Startliker folks pics, ya just get another startlike page - boring! And the boxes seem to come and go weekly...

I think this one is going to stay up on my desktop for a while today. :-)

Great pic. Congrats, James!

@Startlikers - A little over a week ago, I uploaded 4 or 5 pics but they've never shown up in the member archive. It went through the whole process, including taking me to the final page that asked if I was through or if I wanted to upload more pics. I keep checking the member archive and don't see them. Has anybody else had this problem? Just wondering. I uploaded a few pics way back last year & those are in the archive. (At least, I guess they are...they're so far back I haven't looked lately to see if they're still there.) Just the ones I uploaded recently don't show up. Speaking of the archive, it'd be cool if they could make it where you could sort by photographer so you could see each person's pictures all together. Hmmmm, maybe I could make that suggestion.
