@Charlie, where were you at Saturday? Everything around here would have been muddy! (maybe that contributed to your blisters, all that slipping around)

It's kinda nice having another Startliker in your neck of the woods! :)

Ooooh, pretty pic! :)

@QOTD - Hope your tootsies feel better soon, Charlie! I honestly don't have anything to add that hasn't been said already. :)

Thanks everyone. Good stuff on boots n feets. Commons sense stuff but I wasn't thinking of any of that.

Glad to have Startlikers back in my WolfPack :)

Thanks gang! It was warm there!
@ Curtis. The area in Mexico I was in is awesome for outdoor activities. Do a search on Jalcomulco, Veracruz. Plenty of stuff to do there. And its not touristy like Cabo or Cancun....real culture there.

@Lauren not sure what happened to the boxes but if you want info on this area let me know.

Interesting comments on hiking boots and blisters. I hate when that happens!

Very Pretty... I want to know what happened to the boxes that used to show up with info? I liked those, especially for places I wanted to find out where they were. :(

Excellent pic!
@ Charlie - a little over-ambitious for first time out this year - boots or not - your feet weren't prepped for the journey. First time in the gym with weights - hmm...why are my hands all blistered - working in the garden for the first time of the season (or even shoveling all that snow we had) - blisters! The skin needs conditioned, bottom line.

@ Angie : AWESOME shot. If I were to vacation this year sometime, I'd go to Mexico!

Charlie, not only can weight changes affect your feet, but if it had been awhile since you wore the boots, time can change them. If they were in the house with the heat on, they have dried out a lot! Even synthetic fibers respond to moisture changes in the air. I agree with Judy, try light hikes, maybe even no pack at all, just to break them back in, also, get some nice sock liners, they will make all the difference in the world.

@Charlie- If your weight changed your feet did too. Even if just slightly. Maybe you have to kinda break them in again on lighter hikes? I would definately try that before buying new ones. You have some really nice boots.

I did very little hiking last year but the boots (http://www.asolo.com/eng/prod_det.php?area=3&catid=7&itemid=111) I wore were great. Now I have lots of hiking planned for this spring and I've been in the gym plenty this winter so yesterday when the weather broke, I laced up and did a 6 miler with a 25 lb pack. Yay for getting outside the gym, Boo for the blisters I have. Did my feet change? Are the boots no good all of a sudden? Do I tape up my toes and keep at it or get different footwear?
